Interview with Junaid Akram
In an interview with prominent Pakistani YouTuber Junaid Akram aka GanjiSwag, who visited Shafiqa’s Google office in Warsaw, Poland, Shafiqa says companies like Google and Facebook value open source work. Furthermore, she claimed that while there is a huge potential of young people in Pakistan, people are unaware of the recruitment process as Google does not have a physical presence there like an office.
Shafiqa said graduates from other countries already aim to be employed by the Big Five companies and start preparing for competitions and internships as soon as they graduate. This is why Pakistan is slow to get hired by top companies like Google.
Shafiqa also declared her desire to be self-sufficient, so she picked the field and worked her way up to a top company like Google.
Unfortunately, the internet wasn’t working for her last interview with Google, as she recalled. When the interviewer asked him questions during closing statements, the meeting was interrupted due to a poor internet connection. Fortunately, the interviewer seemed indifferent to the question, saying that no one should undermine any talent and that Shafiqa is the perfect candidate to be employed by Google.
